WHO IS AN INJURED WORKER?

IWNN defines an Injured Worker to be an employee or former employee who has:

• sustained a work-related injury, illness, or disease;
• sustained a work-related exposure (including chemical, biological, nanotech, radiological or any other work-related exposure) which has resulted, or has the potential to result in injury, illness, or disease;
• sustained abuse, harassment or retaliation concerning a work-related injury, illness or disease, health and safety issue or a workers’ compensation claim; or
• died from a work-related injury, illness, disease, or exposure. 

For our purposes, the definition of “Injured Worker” also includes those who have reasonable grounds to believe that their injury, illness, disease or exposure was work-related.
